Redskins Interested In Owens Or Marshall?

Oct 23, 2014 1:31 AM

The Redskins may be interested in acquiring free-agent wide receiver Terrell Owens or trading for Denver's Brandon Marshall. Washington had Antonio Bryant in for a visit, displaying their interest in adding a pass-catcher. "We don't talk about who's on our radar screen for obvious reasons, but we do have a plan. And sometimes we'll wait to see what the market value is relative to the price, how many guys might be out there. But we're going to constantly try to upgrade our football team, and sometimes it has to do with salary as much as has to do with just getting depth. And maybe after our minicamps, maybe after the draft, some guy will be out there, and we'll gobble him because we think he has a chance to improve our football team," offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said.

Colts Motivated To Get Peyton's Contract Done

May 20, 2014 2:12 AM

Colts owner Jim Irsay expects to open negotiations with Tom Condon, Peyton Manning's agent, shortly after the April 22-24 draft and "hopefully getting something done sooner rather than later." Manning's contract expires after the 2010 season. "We know Peyton's going to be paid, along with (New England quarterback Tom) Brady, at the top of the league," Irsay said. "But it's really important to make sure we get a deal that for the next four, five, six years works for the franchise." Manning underwent surgery March 2 to relieve pain in his neck.

Harbaugh: Westbrook Will Land Somewhere

May 10, 2014 8:59 AM

Ravens coach John Harbaugh doesn't believe Brian Westbrook will have a problem finding a new home. Westbrook, who was released by the Eagles earlier this month, spent time with Harbaugh in Philadelphia when the latter was on Andy Reid's coaching staff. "I think Brian will definitely end up somewhere, I'm sure. He's too good. And he's too good a guy," Harbaugh said. "We'd be interested in Brian, but with our running back situation, we're so strong there. But believe me, my first thought (when he was released by the Eagles) was, was there any way we can bring him in here to be on our team. But he just doesn't fit us right now."

Agent: Three Teams Interested In T.O.

Aug 20, 2014 11:57 AM

Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Monday that he's in "active discussions" with three teams interested in signing Terrell Owens. Rosenhaus said he's attending the NFL Annual Meeting this week to meet with interested teams but that they have "asked me not to identify them, on or off the record." He did say that the Bengals, who brought in Owens for a visit but signed Antonio Bryant, likely are no longer a destination for his client.

Kraft: Pats Will Get Brady Deal Done

May 17, 2014 1:17 AM

Patriots owner Robert Kraft said the team will continue to talk about a contract extension for quarterback Tom Brady. Kraft also expressed confidence that the sides will strike a long-term agreement. "Let's put it like this: Tom Brady is going to be part of this franchise. He wants to be, we want him," Kraft told reporters early Monday. "Great things happen in life if you're flexible and not rigid. We have to find a way to satisfy him and the team, and have a team that can win big-time. That's what it's about. "We're balancing a lot of different factors in an unknown environment. We're not sleeping. It's just complicated. It's complicated for everyone. We hope we do a satisfactory job, but we'll figure it out one way or another." Brady, 32, is entering the final year of his contract in 2010 after signing a six-year, $60 million extension in 2005.
